Iowa

The law passed in 2006 states that bicycle's with an electric assisted motor is considered a bicycle as long as it comply's with the same regulations as those mentioned above.

New Jersey

The laws are pretty much the same as those passed by the US Congress. Plus you must be 16 years of age or older.

Texas

Texas shares those laws passed by Congress. The weight of the vehicle must not exceed 100 pounds.

Washington

Electric-assisted bicycle's are legal in Washington. They comply with those rules mentioned above at top.

Since electric bikes are classed as a regular bicycle's, all bike laws stand, such as having a front and back light that is clearly visible if cycling at night. There is no drink driving, obviously. But most of all, I advice you just enjoy your cycling.
