eZee Quando Electric Folding Bike Review

The eZee Quando electric folding bike is just an absolute delight.

And why? Well if you have read the Nano-Brompton page, you will know that good folding electric bikes are very difficult to come by, and there have been a lot of lousy attempts by a number of companies to make a good one. However, the little Quando is different.

There is the option of the Quando I or II, and many people have no idea what the difference is, and which to buy. Really there is not much difference hence why so many people get confused, however, there is one major factor to consider: If you're above 5' 6" buy the I, if you're below, buy the II.

The eZee Quando electric folding bike can achieve a range of around 24 - 31 miles with its 370 Watt hour, Li-ion Polymer battery. The Quando is also quite fast achieving speeds of 15 to 16 mph. But, the little Quando can really accelerate and feels fast which is great.

The charging time is not quite so good, taking around 4 and a half to 5 hours to charge, however, if you charge overnight it really isn't too much of a problem.

Biggest Suprise

The biggest suprise was taking the eZee Quando electric folding bike up hills. With no gears, running on a single freewheel, it was expected to be poor, but the Quando surpassed all expectations by a huge margin and is simply superb at climbing hills. It powerfully climbed a 1 in 8 hill with ease. Who would have guessed?

Another great thing about the eZee Quanto electric bike is how comfortable and enjoyable a ride it is. Okay, so the saddle is super comfy, but what about the more pressing matters...

So What Does It Offer?

The Quanto has Schwalbe Big Apple fat tyred 20" wheels, a single 70" gear, V-brakes at the front, a water resistant headset, a 48T and Al alloy crank chainwheel, 200W (Australia, NZ, Singapore ), 250w (EU) , 350w (USA) Brushless DC hub motor, with an overall weight of 18kg.

Not all bad for around $1370 / £850. However, there is one big problem with the eZee Quanto electric folding bike, the battery.

Battery Problems

eZee has had some battery problems with the Quanto folder in past. Mabye eZee have improved with their Li+ manganese battery, but it would take more than a few cycles to figure this out.

Possibly still suffering with battery problems, but overall a very enjoyable and powerful folding electric bicycle.
