eZee Torq Electric Bike Review

The eZee Torq electric bike is a well equipped and overall good electric bicycle. Not to mention its sturdy and good looking frame that just about eclipses all other eZee bikes.

The eZee Torq electric bicycle is certainly an appealing bike to look at, but there is much more to this bike. Within the $1945 / £1200 price tag, there is a host of accessories including front and rear lights, mudguards, rear luggage rack, a kick stand, and a water bottle and holder. However, the lights and stand are quite poor quality.

Although these are nice extras, it's the main components which is most important.

Both The Pedelec and Throttle Mode Available

A great feature is the availability of using the Torq in either pedelec or throttle power on demand form, or just as a regular bike. The two power assisted options work well, and the Torq as a regular bike is also quite enjoyable thanks to the reasonably light 25.6kg weight.

The power assisted modes will last around 20 miles, but we clocked just over 25 miles on a charge before stopping. However, it would not have done much more.

The battery is a 37V 10 Ah Lithium Manganese battery that will take a maximum of 5 hours to charge. The Torq is fast and powerful on straights thanks to its 250 Watts nominal output. The eZee Torq electric bike features a Shimano Nexave 8 speed C500 (33-29-25-21-17-15-13-11 teeth) to help climb those hills.

Does It Have Any Problems?

Along with slight hill climbing difficulty, there is only one other negative with the Torq and that would be the brake judder. It was nothing extreme but could become quite annoying over time.

The foldable Quanto also suffers from the same problem, however, the judder can be sorted or significantly improved by changing the front brake pads. If you were to buy new pads look for ones that are quite long. This won't cost you a lot of money so it's a good option to consider.

eZee Torq Conclusion

Overall, very happy with the eZee Torq electric bike. A very steady and powerful machine that has a good track record. If $1945 / £1200 is within your price range, certainly consider this as it's a good option.
