Powacycle Electric Bicycle Review

The Powacycle electric bicycle company are a relatively new UK based bike company, having been founded in 2004. They offer a number of cost effective electric bikes, with the Windsor being picked out as the best deal available from them. The Salisbury also appears to be a very good option.

The Powacycle Windsor and Salisbury offer all the excitement an electric bicycle should, while being able to get you up those big hills and along straights at a steady speed.

Both the Windsor and Salisbury offer everything for your every day commute and are reliable electric bicycles. Powacycle say their electric bikes are of high quality, yet reasonably priced.

After testing the Powacycle Windsor, there were only one real negative that I could draw on. The first thing that came to mind was that the range of gears could be better with the 6 speed derailleur, but it's no real complaint as the Windsor could climb hills without any problem.

What It Offers...

The Powacycle Windsor offers the pedelec (pedal assist) mode which is great. Pedal assistance mode is where you're assisted by power according to how much you pedal. A real positive from this is that it's easy on your wrists as you don't need to use the throttle all the time.

This Powacycle electric bicycle offers up to around 35 miles in perfect condition and with you pedalling. In hilly conditions and with little pedalling, we achieved 19 miles with the Windsor.

If you want to check your charge level either while charging or during cycling, there are 3 lights underneath the seat at the battery which indicate your charge level. One light indicates the battery is nearly empty, two indicate it's somewhere in between, while three indicate the battery is fully charged.

The Windsor electric bike has a 200W brushless motor (1 year warranty), a 26V Li-ion battery (6 month warranty), V brakes at the front and rear that do the job well, along with helpful extras such as a kick stand, mudguards, and a good solid rear rack for carrying whatever you need to.

Summary

Nothing short of praise for the Powacycle Windsor, and it's a good solid electric bicycle for its price. Obviously not the best quality but you can easily overlook this when you consider its price against other electric bicycles.
